Screens in real-life settings

From drive-in cinemas to open-air festivals, here’s how Hallucine’s inflatable screens meet the practical challenges faced by event organisers.

Every event has its own constraints: number of spectators, venue, weather, and set-up time. Here are three typical scenarios.

Drive-in cinema

A summer drive-in for a local authority

120

cars per session

3 m

image base

30 mins

assembly

The challenge

Organise drive-in cinema screenings in a municipal car park, ensuring that those in the back rows can still see the screen despite the cars in front of them.

The Hallucine solution

The 10 × 8 m Drive-In screen, with its picture base raised 3 m above ground level, offers a clear view over the rooftops. The sound is broadcast via an FM transmitter, with each car tuning its car radio to the screening’s frequency.

The result

A 30-minute set-up before each screening, a clear view from the front to the back of the cinema, and a summer programme running over several weekends.

Open-air festival

An open-air film festival

1,800

audience members per evening

15 m

wide

10 years

The challenge

To screen to a large audience over several evenings, using a screen that is visible from a distance and a setup that can withstand the evening breeze.

The Hallucine solution

A 15 × 10 m screen with a permanent blower system: the blower keeps the screen perfectly taut throughout the screening, whilst the guy ropes ensure it remains stable in windy conditions outdoors.

The result

A large, clear image for the entire audience, a well-organised setup and a consistent projection experience throughout the festival.

Corporate event

A company social

6 m

The challenge

Set up a screen quickly for a projection at a corporate event, without the noise of a projector or complicated logistics.

The Hallucine solution

A 6-metre waterproof inflatable screen: inflates in a matter of minutes, requires no continuous air supply and is therefore completely silent, and is light enough to be handled by a single person.

The result

Quick and unobtrusive set-up, silent projection, and a screen that can be transported and stored without the need for a dedicated technical team.
