Open-air cinema: your questions

Which screen should you choose for an open-air cinema?

The right screen depends on the distance between the audience and the screen, and on the number of spectators. Allow for approximately 1 metre of screen width for every 10 to 15 metres of viewing distance. Our screens range from 3 to 24 metres; we can help you choose the right one for your venue.

How much does it cost to organise an open-air cinema screening?

The budget depends on the screen size, the equipment (projection, sound) and whether you choose to buy or hire. Hiring a full set-up starts at around a few hundred euros for a small event. Request a free quote for an accurate estimate.

Do you need a licence to screen a film outdoors?

Yes: a public screening requires the film’s screening rights (obtained through a distributor or a specialist company) and, in most cases, permission from the local council to use the venue. As for the equipment, no special arrangements are required.

Can we hire the equipment instead of buying it?

Yes. For a one-off event, hiring is often a better option than buying. We offer screens and complete set-ups for hire for the duration of your event.
